New rod?

Hello all,

I am a very irregular sea angler (ten days a year in Berwickshire, and that\'s it) looking to buy a mid-price all round shore rod. I fish around Burnmouth mostly, and have got a boat rod, but have always used a spinning rod from the shore. This has been trodden on twice now, and so is missing the last foot, so it\'s time to buy a new one. Basically, I use it for harbour fishing, and occassionally from the rocks or a little boat 300 yardsish from shore. I\'m looking for something light enough to be able to feel a 1lb coley or wrasse in the harbour, while also being able to get at least a bit of distance when casting from the rocks.

Reading that back, I know it sounds as if I need to buy two rods, but any recommendations?

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy. if I was you I would have a look into a few tackle shops and tell them your requirements. No point in spending a lot of money if you are not going to be using it regularly. As you say two rods would probably be better but have a word in a few shops and I am sure they will help you out mate.

Jim.

this links from another thread but check out the clearance section ive just sent for a daiwa reduced to £24:99

Popped in there on my lunch the other week Bri and came out with a Tip Tornado Ultra Lite from their clearence section for £150! Cracking rod as well.

One word of warning though - most items they sell outside the clearence section are RRP.
