Just like to know what new tackle anglers used this winter and what they thought was the best and worst value for money \' i used 30lb trilene for the first time and over 20+ rock sessions its knocked spots off any other line i\'ve used \' the worst has to be all them artificial baits that have popped up crap every last one of them...

First winter season using a 525mag - fantastic. Worst value for money, nothing comes to mind, probably the cost of lugworm compared to the codling caught!!

best buy has been the daiwa sl30sh and the RT rod
worst buy kingfisher line from ID snaps at every little snag

new 525 super mag excellent reel, bought 535 mag of e bay for the rocks great reel great price, new zziplex primo syncro only used once but first class.Worst thing bought smart bait absoloute crap.
forgot me new tiga headlamp dead bright but battery a bit heavy plus me spare light of e bay 57p.

Best thing?........The little Petzl Myo3 headttorch I bought back in Sept.
OK, the main beam ain\'t the brightest, but I\'m happy to foresake that for the compactness and ease of use it provides. In led mode, it\'s excellent and lasts for ever (well, mebbies not \"for ever\"), on one set of batteries.

Worst thing?.......Hmmmm.....as far as thr raio of spend / success goes, I think I\'ll go along with Davy....lol......BAIT !!

Bought quite a bit of new stuff this last few months (typing quietly so that she who must be obeyed does not hear).
Sirius Eiger boots, never had cold feet but would not wear them on the rocks as they are not the best near weed.
Two new rods Conoflex Nemisis SLR and a Century G-5 Super sport Both great rods for the beach.
Couple of new Reels one that has been mentioned on here, the Penn 525 Mag which I think is great and an Abu 6500 CT C3 Which for some reason is so much better with the Century rod than any other reel I own.
Not mentioning me new headlight for obvious reasons lol.
Can\'t say I have had anything this year that has not come up to scratch.

just a couple of buys this winter, reelsport response via Mike R nice rod handles well but imho not a real rough ground rod ideal in mixed ground though.best buy via Ian w posting the link that i asked for was peet wader dryers,dry waders with no stale smell in next to no time

Same as Spugy - Kompressor WR300 (but 13ft) and a Tiga headlamp. Two great pieces of kit.

Used a nightsearcher 2-in-1 pro for most of the winter and then upgraded - NO END BETTER!

Not too much bought - but best for me was the new Shakespeare \'Sherpa\' straps for carrying your box on your back. Half the price of the seat box conversion and much much much more comfortable to use (no backrest though) Next was my small and light 12 led headlight off e-bay - 1p + £4.99 postage from Hong Kong - excellent product!

Best buy like Tony is the Petzl Myo (mines is the MYo5) not a fantastically bright beam but beats the hell out of my old MFA which kept losing it\'s juice halfway thru a session usually while on the rocks.
Also got meself a Btea box which is a vast improvement on me old rucksack. At least everything stays dry now.
Worst thing was like Bribones that Kingfisher line is pants. Snapped at every opportunity and perished after about six sessions.

Best buy...penn 525mag never thought I would find a better reel than an abu!!! Best line Ultima F1... best bargain 6oz long grip weights 3 for £1 from cramlington market

Best buy of the year for me was a Zziplex v-max f1.I t is a great rod for long range fishing and it can handle the rough stuff too.
