Welcome to nesa m8 you will get plenty good advice on here and a chance to buy and sell kit at very good prices .The rod you are using cent gp is a good stiff rough ground rod I used one of these a few years back and found it to be spot on match it up with a good reel and you won't go far wrong all the best and tight lines:)

thanks for the welcome lads the rod I have is a century compressor grand prix got it of my mate he has had it a long time from new, I would say its a rough ground rod tried to get a new real fitting for it from frazers the only one that would fit was a Fuji 30mm £19.
I find the rod to be heavy at the moment think that's just down to me as I am used to a fly rod,but my mate informs me he will remove the old real fitting and grips put some coaters on give that a try.
I have seen him cast this rod and he can belt it out over some distance so
I just need to little more practice casting.
as I am retired and on the state pension I can not afford to splash out on brand new rods.

got the rod of my m8 he has had it from new its a century compressor
grand prix 13ft 6ins but I think its heavy the reel seats size is 30mm as the old one need to be replaced

yes mate I have heard of it now that you say grand prix but I dont think I have ever seen one.
I have a Kompressor SS, might swap for a session if I see you out, always eager to try something new

I intend to get a lot more practice casting but its a 50 mile round trip to get down to the beach or pier .
think I will just go onto the football field :D and give it half a welly lol
