New Zziplex TRC Paired With The New Penn Fathom 15ld2 Then The Akios Orion 100ld

Why not cast over grass and get them measured so people can see how good these rods are that you test .It's hard for people to judge if you know what i mean when they cannot see the lead land.Just a thought mate

Aye I'd like to see him perform over grass and get a measure, thumbs up great video top bombing.

Thanks for the kind words lads with the video.....You have Got a valid point in regards to casting on grass I think there's a few different reasons why we choose Bessie's hole ( the venue in the video ) to shoot the videos one is we can get out of the way of the public while filming, people actually asked us to shoot there as it was pleasing to the eye...( there words not mine ) and last of all lads it gets us out of the wind/weather with you been down in a dip...Will keep it in mind about casting over grass and also going to start to do some close up slow mo shots as we've had a few requests for that...thanks

Nice video as normal mate, just a quick question does all that underwhipping and tip tape not kill the recovery of your rod?

i asked the same question in a prior video, when paul as an unexplained crack off , personally putting high build over the last 2 foot of the tip is some thing i would not do , it will affect the recovery of the rod , leading to crack offs etc, it is all so well known under whipping a rod especially the tip will slower the action of the rod, thats why tournament casters now just tape light weight rings on there rod ,i have a m4 gt which as very light weight rings on and no under whipping and the action is a lot quicker compared to a friends m4 gt which is under whipped through out.

That hunking great Diamite tip ring won't help matters either. Just my humble one but it is the equivalent of buying a Ferrari then putting steel wheel rims on the thing...

Do you think it matters stewart on such a powerfull rod which has a thickish tip compared to say a really fine tip.on really slim lightweight rods like a profile or syncrho I can agree, but on m427's n zeteques etc surely not....Just wondered what you thought m8,not wanting to debate it or owt lol, cheers hh:)

I agree about the tip ring i don't think that matters to much on heavy ground rod, but the unferwhippings plus the tip ring will effect the action. But underwhipping does make it look nice lol but its just another tool to use,

Most top end reels are converted boat reels the trq the diawa hyperspeed to name a few, the akios will be louder as you have 30lb line on it, spool wont be balanced, personally don't see the point in lever drags from the shore especially as paul thinks they will suit rough ground/cliffs. 99%of cliff or rough ground anglers just put the drags on full.
