Hello again and thanks for the welcome.
All these fish were caught from a boat using live squid as bait and at water no more than10-15 meters deep.
Furtheremore we did not use a rod at the time so changing hands helped us not to chop off our fingers completely:p
As you can imagine we had some pretty good and long fights with them but we got to be the winners in the end:D

Cheers for that, hope you're enjoying your time over here. The summer boat season is greatish, usually here. There's every chance you'll get a trip out with one of the members here ;) Plenty of charter boats as well.

Mackerel fishing from the shore in summer can be fun in the right place at the right time. Have you travelled around much as the fishing can be very different in other parts of the country. Bass, tope, mullet, pollack, garfish ........

If you haven't yet, get yourself up that Scotland, the sea angling can be great but the game fishing (Trout and Salmon) is amongst the best in the world. Closer to home the Wear, Tees and Tyne valleys are beautiful, Lake District is a bit nice as well.

Thanks a lot for the info mate.Unfortunately I haven't met many people that fish around here so i wouldnt know where the good fishing spots are.I've just been fishing at the Roker pier and another place close to seaburn with just some small and medium whities as prizes:rolleyes:
I would really like to find someone to go fishing with, have fun, and maybe get to know some good spots,or explore new ones.

Any proposal, welcome:cool:

welcome mate, don't worry about not catching anything, the fishing at the moment is terrible, even the top class NE anglers are hardly cayching anything. Roker pier is not a bad spot, and sure you will catch something soon. Pop into Rutherfords tackle shop and have a word with Andy, tell him Alan Charlton sent you, he will probably through you out, and ask him for some advice.
hope you have a big house in Greece, as with fish like the ones you have caught we will all be wanted to come.

A big welcome to nesa and this strange land and welldone for having ago at the hardy sport that is north east fishing it's lovely to see a fellow angler from other parts with great pics too nice catches and is your name from Ionian sea?

Keep up the good work and tight lines!!:)

Spot on mate!It IS from the Ionian sea where i grew up and always miss :(
Its one of the most beautiful seas I've been with crystal clear water and nice fresh salty smell:D
Have you ever been there?Corfu maybe?
I'll upload some more pics and ask my fishing buddy to send me some videos we took so I can upload them too.

Cheers for the warm welcome guys.

As promised...:D

All of them were caught by boat appart from the ones by spearfishing.

Hope you like them...

I would also like to ask some questions.
Since I'm new at these waters I've never been surfcasting with multies and i would like your help so as to decide which rod to get.
I recieved today my Daiwa 7ht mag baby(needless to say I'm soooo happy):D and now i need to get a rod as well.Up to now I've been fishing with telescopic fixed spool so i dont have any experience with 2 pieces rods.
The one I'm thinking to get is the Century tornado tip LD.
I'm thinking about this one as i'll also need to use it in Greece where the weather is calm and a really stiff rod is almost useless.I've also been using really parabolic rods so a really stiff will be difficult for me to cast.
So...what do you think about Century LD?Is it worth its cost?I've seen some pretty good reviews about it but i still need some advice.Any other brands you have to propose? All ideas welcome.

Thanks in advance, Theo

Hi Theo and welcome to NESA. Some good fish in those photographs, there must be some decent sport back home mate. I am sure it won't be long till someone is showing you a few marks, problem is as others have said though, it isn't really the best time to be fishing from our shore.

Jim.
