Newbiggin Open

thats quite a statement to make would you like to elaborate a bit more for us less fortunate than yourself to know this goes on.
think the guys in the club would be interested in talking to you to find out what exactly you mean by that statement.
me myself will be fishing as is what keeps the clubs going and future anglers hoping to catch the bigun.

years ago was fising the open, going for flatties down near the wansbeck. Bloke next to me was fishing the open, had been fising next to me since its start time and had only caught a couple of small flatties. So why/how did he have a coley about 2lb in his bag???

I assume it wasnt to be used as bait? so what else would he use it for? weighing in perhaps?

Unfortunately when cash is involved some humans loose their morals!

Exactly why I don't bother the the open comps now, used to fish as many as I could years ago. Witnessed dodgy goings on myself (two lads putting their couple of fish each into one bag of four and weighing it in - I knew they were cheating as, like Insano, I'd fished beside them the whole comp), never fished an open since. Just to add, this wasn't in the Newbiggin comp but another which at the time was probably the biggest NE open.
