went to newbiggin at over the golf course lug and rag used sea was wild but caught two codling and 3 lings good day but eye of rod went the day not happy dont know whether to get it fixed or buy a new one cheers thats all folks

ive never heard of ling getting caught over newbiggin as ive lived there all my life and wereabouts did you fish ?

i just fish down past the golf course im sure there lings like look like eels but skinny and a blacky browny colour might not be like as u s say

Defo sound like rockling mate. Ling are very light brown. You will catch the odd stray ling but they are mostly deeper water fish - well done on the codling though. Will cost you a tenner max to get your eye fixed so it all depends on how much your rod cost. Got to be cheaper than a new rod though if that is all that's wrong with the rod

mind just read this post nd av heard of ling being caught off rock marks just slightly north of newbiggin, so it wudnt suprise me, av had 1 on northrow ends, whitburn.
