Nice afternoon on the pilot

Just got back off the pilot, got there for about 10:30 ish, there was only one person on so plenty of room. Had a coalie after a few chuck but then had to wait unti about 2pm before i caught a nice little flattie for me dads tea. :)
Took a few photos on the way off, just to show everone what a lovely place Hartlepool is :) and one of me dads tea of course.

Nice pictures mate, I will have to fish there one day always say im going to but end up on middleton. Well done on the fish.

Its the Middleton.
I am unsure about the Pilot pier-you either love it or hate it. It can be hard work for snags and tackle loss. The secret (and i should,nt be saying this ) is to cast between the red and green bouys. If you fish the channel there is some old pots were you snag and lose gear. If you fish to the left were the headland is its snag city.

i fished the pilot last wednsday ther was plenty ov fish few codlin 4n half pound i was looky enought to catch 17 whiteys all jst over 2lb, grandad was happy lol:D......... i jst got in been down ther tonight only got 2 small whiteys:mad:...... useing pully rig bait rag worm tipped with makrel always a winner in the dark
 
when i was akid-nd thats a long time ago the Pilot Pier was an abolute brill place to catch Cod. I,ve seen loads caught off there. Best time is when its really rough with a big sea coming over the Heugh.
Pilot or Middleton as they are quite sheltered.
