night fishing for mackerel

Try a glo stik!! no, am not joking, am sure av herd this has been done b4, if not, then shine your headlamp on your spinner so the fish can see it:)

Hello,
Just use the same spinners as you would during the day....sometimes the last hour of daylight and well into darkness can be very good.

last Summer I was out plugging for bass one night well into darkness and I was getting a mackerel a cast, good fun but frustrating when you're trying for for something else.

A change of colour, often a darker lure or a lure with plenty of vibration will make a difference as the light goes.

Regards Ian.

Get some cheap tip-lights and small cable-pull-ties from the quid shop, wrap them to a lure. Not had much luck myself but some say they work and they will make the spinner light up in the dark.

Could always try float-fishing with a strip of mackerel or small sandeel - just stick one of those tip-light glowstick things in the top of your float so you can see when it goes under.

Gary :)
