No Mackerel

Left Amble on Thursday afternoon and headed North again.Hoping to catch some mackerel to use for bait but absolutely no luck. Decided just to use lures to try for cod. Tried various lures but nothing doing until I put on 3 luminous
shad with 6.0 hook and ended up with 2 good size cod to take home.

It is sometimes a case of switching around to see what the fish fancy on the day. My son was out fishing last night and he said that the water was very dirty close in, with a lot of weed, and that would deter the mackerel. Well done on getting some prized cod though.
