north east referendum ?

Yes, it was very nice of Brendan to write to us all.....it seems that we are all his new best mates.....lol.

Dunno about you lot, but I\'m fed up of seeing that opera singer wifey on the telly, telling us to vote \"yes\"........Had anybody ever heard of her before all this ?? Makes me wonder, does she really feel THAT strongly about it, or is it purely a means of raising her profile?

Sent my papers in last week as I am a great believer in if you don\"t vote you have no right to complain.
As you say Tony is she actually based in the north east. I have always had a great respect for Brendan Foster he was one of my heroes when I was a youngun. Will just agree to dissagree with him on this one though.

Jim.

I agree with you on both counts there, Jim.......

You\'ve GOT the right to vote, if you don\'t use it, you HAVEN\'T got the right to complain.

Brendan.......Hmmmm.....yes I DID have a lot of respect for him......until I got involved with him & his company, \"NOVA\" (through work) with the organisational side of the GNR....what a prima donna

well me and the missus gave it a no vote and the kids got a paper plane to chuck about, ive seen a better argument on here for the no vote ,than ive seen on all the bumf pushed through the door ;)

curious thing tha no one in the media or elsewhere have picked up on. Supposed to be a secret ballot??? hardly. Every ballot paper has a unique barcode on that is scanned when they are returned, and if you looked closely you\'s dee the same bar code under your name and address

so they know, not only wether you voted and how you voted.

bit worrying really

Now if Steve Cram had sent me a letter my vote would have been sealed, countersigned by Jimmy Nail (swoon) of course. :o

Never got my ballot papers. Moved house Feb, notified the C. Tax and put my name on electoral role sheet for new address but must still be \"in the system\".

Bet if they wanted money from me the letter would quickly find it\'s way to the right place.

Just like the incompetency of the tax office over child tax credits. Taking money off us then giving it back, asking for forms to be filled in then telling us they haven\'t got them. Send second form followed by telephone calls where you\'re told the info is \"on the screen\" all the time. Send duplicate letters to both of us at the same address at the same time just cos our surnames are different despite both signing one form for one claim. How much has one claim cost?

78% NO vote.

Common sense prevailed in the North East....and HOW !!

Just goes to show that we can\'t be duped by hollow political promises and ermmm \"untruths\".

Time now for all those North East MPs down in Westminster to get off their backsides and do what THEY were elected to do......represent the North East.......the spotlight will now be firmly on them....and rightly so.

Cheer\'s Tony did not hear the result as I was out tonight. A bit gutted as it was only 78% was hoping for more. Still not a bad message to those that think they can tell us any thing that they wish.

Jim.

john prescott will now want to beat every one up in the north east for not supporting him

its quite frightening to think that a bar steward like hime can be deputy pm

i wonder if any of the money they had earmarked for this little project will still end up in the north east ? dont hold ya breath

best get some eggs in in case john comes calling :mad2:

Update from my tax office rant.

Have had two letters (each) notifying us result of appeal and what we\'ve been awarded about two weeks ago. Letter arrives Friday thanking us for our correspondence and letting us know we\'ll be dealt with in due course.

I\'d love to know how their mail sorting system works. Put it in a big sack and dive in for the next job like Jim\'ll Fix It?
