North end of Longsands

Decided to have a few hours last night and take my chance. Fished the north end of of Tynemouth beach before moving onto Slaty Gut and then onto South Crab Hill. Quite a strong southerly breeze but no sea to speak of at Slaty. Had an hour on the Hill and fished the first hour of the flood back on Slaty. Took one small codling about 2IB and quite a large Rockling. Lost two smallish fish probably around the pound mark on the way back in, too. Had 4 casts during the last hour and 4 bites. Looked like it could have fished but I was getting low on crab and it was getting late. An enjoyable session nevertheless. Looking forward to the Tynemouth Club match on Sunday now.
