North Shields fish quay new years morning

Arrived at 9-15am. and fished 2 rods by the "gut" on the newly opened fish quay. One rod with black lug, the other with frozen crab. Bites straight from the off, 1st fish an under size coalie on the crab. second, the same, then small codling on the worm, and so it went on till I had 10 fish all under size. Packed in at 11-30am, quite happy that I hadn't blanked on the 1st of the new year. All fish safely returned, no casualties.

good session mate, I fished the walkway from 12 until 4. never had one bite. crabs enjoyed my bait though. Fished the shelf at marsden yesterday and had loads of bites and pulled 2 dabs in both decent size. think i should have gone back there today. andy
