Saturday 06 February - decided to fish in the river after an unproductive hour at Cullercoats bay. Got to the fish quay, ashamed to be an angler, the whole length of the quay was covered with all sorts of fishing related rubbish. Discarded line, bait wrappers, hand cloths, fag packets, beer cans, the lot. When will people realise that this behaviour ends up with venues being shut to anglers, especially as there is an ample supply of rubbish bins situated along that stretch of the quay, and people to lazy / ignorant to use them. Please use your loaf and take your rubbish to the bins, its easier than losing access to a safe venue to fish. :o
P.S I still managed to blank, nothing to do with Sammy the seal hanging around watching us watching him.
 
Noticed this last time i was fishing down the quay, but not taking sides its not just fishermen that make all the rubbish. Some of the boy racers sometimes have a walk up to have a look with there 'bella' bottles and cans of lager.

used to fish the fish quay when i was smaller, never caught out apart from other peoples rubbish... quite snaggy round there aswell from what i remember...
