today was one of those days....you know the one's, where fish have been caught in the days and weekends before so you're quietly confident the day will produce results.....

8 lads from work and myself booked a day out on Jims boat hoping for some decent fishing, weather looked a good forcast, the big tides weren't really an issue, but on arrival at the dock we were met with this

this kind of put paid to the idea of a good run over to saltburn/skinningrove grounds, so North it was .......

as we got further out the fog lifted a bit

ahh ..a bit of sun...anyway we had £90 in the sweep for the heaviest fish so we were all projecting positivity down our rods focused on catching

tried rough gound a few wrecks ...............nothing

looked like this was going to take the money £££

as the afternoon progressed we did eventually take codling up to 5lbs

taken on one of Dusty Bins rippers..cheers Dusty

sweep was won by phil's ...... £90 codling

there was another special moment today, a fish taken on special "tactical "

Some nice early season fish for the table there mate. I went through to Chris's to pick up some spinners today and had a quick look at the rippers, can't wait to try them.

At least you got out fishing, so well done on catching some decentg fish. The fog never lifted at Tynemouth, so hoping for better weather Sunday

Yes the day started manky but turned out great and well done to PHIL on his catch which took the cash but also well done to all the lads that turned out so good luck on the next trip okay
