the northern lights should be visible tonight if your out and sky is clear look to north horizon try to be in a dark area and hope sky clears.

try now if you get a gap in clouds, go to SOHO web site or do search for space weather we are 6 hours into a major solar storm and the Aurora is lighting up the sky's over the north and south polar areas with a KP of *8 the highest is a *10

I think the best time is between 6pm and 10pm but it's overcast so we'll probably miss it. I'm out fishing later on so I'm hoping the cloud breaks up before its all done.

just been for a drive on military road [hadrians wall] about 10 mins of clear sky to the north and seen northern lights as a green glow by time got camera set up clouds came back over. hope you do better then me.
