Northumberland rock marks

There was a great article in Febs Sea Angler by Chris Stringer. In his article he shows a number of shots such as Craster island, Schoolhouse point, Black hole, Cullernose point, Swinedene and Doctors house at Howick. Am I right in assuming that these are all low water marks.

The island doctors house and swinedene I think are all low water shots the rest can be fished any stage if the tide. Cullernose can be fished from higher up the cliff providing you cast far enough to reach the fish. It's very deep water

That's the key to fishing cullernose point you have to have agood cast a lot of people say its deep water you just need a lob this is so wrong 100 yards plus puts you among the fish

I go packed with 20 & 30 size reels & line. Fishing the Doctors House area or the Black Holes to Cullernose stretch I usually use a 20 with 60/70 shock-leader and give it a good whack. Swinedene way or Black Hole & the Island I'll fish with a 30 plus shocker. Bimini-twist to leader and rotten-bottoms. I use exactly the same rig as Chris described in his article, although I quite often switch the grip lead for a plain, square-sided "aqua zoom" lead on some of the marks - stick with a gripper if fishing the stretch north of Cullernose & whacking out into the tide though.

Oh, and reel in like the clappers - don't dawdle, it's very rough close in there, and at the Doctors House stretch there's a ledge about 50/60yds out that will get you every time if you hang about!

I've fished cullernose point quite a bit and like some of the lads have already said it is quite heavy. As you come onto the point you'll see a island about 2'oclock from you (depending on the tide) its very heavy in and around there and to the right of it. Like all heavy spots though they do attract good bags but you've gotta be willing to loose a bit gear. if there's a big tide on with a NE wind it can become canny dangerous, rocks turn really slippery even with decent footwear. Spring and summer on the other hand attract some great mackerel and whiting on the spinners.

Looking to get up there for a few chucks later this week. What's the ground like off the rocks directly in front of the carpark.
Will probably fish the 5m tide out on wed. Not been out for a few weeks and sick of waiting for "good" conditions.

Any recomendations?

Really rough ground
I tend to find using a heavier weight, 6 or 7oz breakaway to get it to bottom quicker & stop it rolling round the crevices gives me more chance of bringing gear back in, saying that I still lost 8 sets of gear yesterday, but unfortunately didn't even get a bite!!!!
Stunning place though
I wish I'd tried further up the rocks into the bay on right of cullernose but thought I'd have a change!

I'm after a change too. Google maps shows to the right looking mixed ground. Time to perfect my rotten bottom setup.

Me and a mate fished that area a couple of weeks ago, from the flat rocks in front of the lay by in the dip, and also a couple of spots just to the right. There's a lot of kelp to cast over in places, but we didn't seem to get snagged up very often. In fact I didn't lose any gear at all. Didn't get any fish either mind!

That was at low water, we then went on to Cullernose, which was snags, snags, and more snags---and still no fish. Will be trying it again though.
