Norway Fishing

Ian
I would take the car mate that is included in the initial figure so weights etc would not be an issue = spoke to people who have been out there and you do not loose that much due to the nature of the botom and fishing.

i would ideally like to have 4 in the car(with roof rack) the cost of beer is expensive in norway but you get the duty free stuff on the way over and it is not too bad. would like to know in the next week or so.

Regards jason

Ian you can go on your own and I will stay at home........I never intended on coming with you.....me and boats do not mix..

So if we get 8 thats 2 cars for 7 days in Norway for a coast of about £650-£700 all in other than drinks/food.

Is that correct or have i got it all wrong.

Nah Richy.......without beer money your looking at around £750

650 for the fishing boat and ferry over,

Then you need to add on 4 nights stay in Bergen as well

So it may be even more than 750 unless we can get somewhere quite cheap

Is that right Jason???.

By the way.....count me in.

Clare said she\'ll pay for some of it as a Christmas pressie :P

aye mate

Looking to fill 4 places as gordon the skipper says he may be able to fill it with other individuals.

leave wednesday from the toon arrive bergen thursday evening, get on the boat midday saturday for 7 nights leave bergen on the monday night.

Cost per person at the mo is £550 7 days full board charter fee, £135 for return ferry with one car 4 passengers and cabin - that leaves money required for accom in the bergen area (looking at anglers world cabins etc for this they seem quite cheap) for 4 nights (2+2), food for ferry and bergen days and beer money (duty frees must be bough on the boat). So you are looking at around £750-£800 for accom and fishing. I dont think that is bad for a 13 night break.

Currently have ian and me and possibly dave m (if yer still interested).

I was interested and had my name down for this one last year when it was posted but interest seemed to fizzle out. Two weeks might be a bit much for me as I\'m away for two weeks in February, I could manage a week away though.

I agree with marc , its the two nights hanging around in Bergen either end ( Do that regular-no fun ) . whats the reason for the extra four days jason and could we cut them out ? Rich is seeing if he can the time of as well I think .

the reason is that the summer ferry timetable does not start until may 18th the july week seems to have gone off the plot now will email gordon and see what the score is.

Will also cost alternatives due to the extra days etc. Watch this space. :P

Your doing a good job Jason, like Dave said i am seeing my gaffa at work, if he will let me work the factory shut down i will have the leave for the trip. Will let you know asap.

Rich
Just done a bit of research and looks like we can get a week at Zanzibar Inn (north of trondheim) for the first week of august, 4 in a lodge, leaving on the friday returning newcastle following sunday with 2 20hp/18ft boats with gps. Price £450 each. Would mean beer money and food extra.

Could you just let me know what I am paying for as soon as possible cos Ian has plans for my money if this does not go ahead.....he mentioned something about land rovers and suspensions......

No worries clare will hopefully have a plan agreed by all who have shown an interest in the next week or so.

Well plan two looks good - will cost about 400-450 each for the week. Ian, Rich, Dave please PM me with prefered dates - i am flexible with work commitments and will go with the flow. Will be taking my car as have a through seat area for rods will have the boot free and also will have a substantial trailer for the Duty Free beer. The car will be filled up in Newcastle by the company fuel card and then we will hopefully only need one tank of juice on the other side(save costs). :D

Looks like a good drive the other side but it will be worth it - hope this wets your appetite.

Nice work jason , put me down for that anytime will do . Its a canny pull from Bergen to Trondheim like but we can share the driving . Are you thinking about hiring our own boat or going on the sites boat ?

Dave the cost i have worked out is including 2 18ft boats with gps. So we can do what we want.
Just worked out the route and your right it is about 500miles to the village but how good will it be to get away from everything for a week except fishing.

Got no problem with the distance jason , looking at 10hrs like . When do you intend to book m8 ? Wonder if the site will supply co-ordinates for the GPS to the good marks ?

As i said before Jason your doing a good job.

My only concern (spelling?) is, ther eis a hell f alot of water out tere and as any boat fisherman knows, unless your right over the correct bit of the wreck or rock etc your chances of catching the fish you want will be more than halfed. Its good being able to do waht we like fishing wise but will we be able to get tot he marks, if we know them at all. The boats are very small and i think a slight will stop you getting out on them.
