after trying to get bait the last few days without success i managed to get some belting lug and rag from nets today ,so i headed down to roker last night set up and out . looking around it looked slow not much coming in then the whiting showed some good stamp up to a pound mark plus and the odd codling started on the flood at around 1.5lb mark and a cracking coalie i seen come in around 1.5lb -2lb ,at this time i still hadnt a fish to show then a small codling took the relief off the blanking ,standing talking to a mate i seen a small rattle pick up the rod bang nearly yanked me rod out me hands fish surfaced close in but some owld fella was under is ,any way managed to sussed that out what way to go and i wasnt sure on the hook snood situation from crab tampering i took it along the stairs nice codling of 5lb ,a while late a bloke lost one round the left side of the round head around the same size ,after that a few casts went by i gets another strange tap reeled in a dozen turn becos of slack line nowt responded ,mate says it will be back it sure did back along the steps for another walkies another codling 4lb 10 ounces ,also into the session i took a whiting at 1lb 5 ounces followed by a codling of 1lb. 8 by this time me mate had landed a codling of 3lb too ,with the other whitings and smaller codling during the session i wud say around 15lb in fish total best session to date this season ,i left at around 6.30am
