Went to Seaham Hall beach with a couple of lads from work tonight ,got there about midnight fished a couple of spots on the beach, conditions where great, only my third outing with my Greys Triplex ,I\'ve been quite gentle with it being strange and new ,anyway I decided to see how much I could bend it ( you know what\'s coming next eh ) I could feel the weight as the rod compressed and then about ten degrees before release SNAP ,the last two feet snapped clean off ........still spitting feathers here .....where\'s the fookin Stella.

Sorry to hear that steve my mates had a lot of bother with his mk2 apollo  Im asuming you get the gauruntee with it ..there warehouse is in cramlington if you speak to them maybe you could go and exchange it over there would save the journey up to alnwick or the wait and postage costs ???

Bad luck mate I know how you feel. It\'s not as bad when you have a spare rod with you that is why I usually take one. The night mine snapped I had only had 4 or 5 chucks and it was straight back home.

At least as Paul says you can get it replaced, when you get the new one take it out and try it properly from the begginning mate.

Jim.

Steve, demand a refund from whoever sold you it under the Sales of Goods Act 1979 (insufficient quality or durability).

The chances of me ever buying a Greys rod are zero.

Just been on to Greys ,turns out that the customer service dept. closes at 12.30 on Fridays and no one else could help me , I\'m beginning to get slightly angry :casstet:

sorry about the rod mate but cheers for the input on greys, just in the nick of time our lass was putting her coat on to buy me my apollo today and i have just changed my mind its lucky i read this.

Imaybe its luck of the draw....and you happen to get a rod made on a day when one of our oriental friends was having a bad day!

I\'ve got an orion, a mercury and a PZ match and they\'ve all been very well used and abused and never had a problem with any of em, same goes for the spinning rods and fly rods, maybe just bad luck.

Sorry to hear about the rod Steve.

I\'m still a massive fan of my mk1 Apollo though.
