Not shore fishing but...

... the wife and young son are away for the weekend, so guess what I will be spending all day tomorrow doing :)

Heading up to Fontburn to spend the day fishing for rainbow trout. Just been loading the car up, so all I need to do in the morning is pack my flask and I am off! really looking forward to it - haven't had a decent days fish on my own in ages. I normally take my son, but there is something nice about being able to chuck your gear in the water, pour a coffee and just enjoy the quiet :)

Enjoy the day, but it will be over as quick as a flash

Aye, that's the only thing - aiming to be there for 7am when it opens - then leaving as late as I can. it's only a 45 min drive from here so that's not too bad. Don't even care if I catch to be honest - just looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet :)

3 3/4lb - so not a huge one - could really feel it fighting on 6lb braid though! Could feel every pull, bounce and jump! Enjoying my fishing so much more after switching to braid, love the feel now as I am playing the fish.

Nowt better than a day at one of the reservoirs. Used to do it often but havn't for a while.

Aye, bit too windy for the fly rod yesterday so just ledgered with power bait and a swim feeder. Was so relaxing - chucked the line out, set the alarm and slouched down in my chair. I actually woke myself up snoring at one point! :D
