fished the red light at hartlepool 26/02/13 from 11 till 16.30 two of us and absolutley no bites 3 other guys from wheatly hill also fished they also blanked.... every type of bait used but there were 3 seals swimming about all day...one big bugger even swum within 5 yards of the rods...going to try twin steps on thursday and if no good return to river fishing till next season

i generally fish the red light and twin steps way and have wanted to try a bit of river fishing with it been slow at the mo.. what rivers do you fish and what for?

how cum use fish through the day on red light. i fish in the dark few hrs befor high and few hrs after high water. always 2 hook flapper one with rag n squid one with rag and macky . never blank ok my only be whities but big ones . last friday i had 11 big whities full of rowe, 2lb codlin (re-turned) and a nice flatti. few ppl fishing but i had two rods my imax and a spinning rod on bottom had to hold it most of time . even let other anglers real few in for them selfs on the spinning rod keep thm intrested.:D

to spotter ..sorry m8 but i can only fish till about 6pm as i have other commitments and i dont live on the doorstep.... to cod seeker me and my m8 are in ferryhill and district angling club we fish the river wear at croxdale[durham] on the honest lawyer stretch we park in the honest lawyer hotel car park [the club has permission] last year on this stretch we had chub up to 7 lbs salmon 9 lbs sea trout up th 5 lbs grayling 2.5 lbs perch 1.5 lbs roach 1lb brown trout up to 18inches and small barbel needless to say apart from possibly the salmon and a couple of trout everything was returned safely... the rivers are a bit slow at the moment because of the cold but in about a month they will "take off" hope this helps
 
Catches are few and far between at the minute mate hopefully it'll pick up during the spring
