Of all days

I took a day off work to go coarse fishing at Woodlands fishery, Carlton miniott, Thirsk, there are 13 ponds on the complex and as it turned out most of which were mostly frozen over, another couple of lads turned up to have a look and this was there third venue they had visited as the others were frozen over completely!
So I picked my peg and set up my feeder rod with a small maggot feeder cast a bit further out into the middle through what I thought was really thin ice to cover my line with Fairy washing up liquid, unfortunately the ice wasn’t that thin and lost my feeder good start! :-(
Over the whole day (08:00 – 16:30) I had a few skimmer bream a couple of small carp and a small roach at the end of the day, oh and one full English there were various small birds constantly sitting on my bait tray pinching my maggots :-)
As always a days fishing of any kind is better than being at work!

Tried to upload a couple of photos but given up :-((

Decent for this time of year, I often take the boys fishing at the pond at angel of the north. It's stuffed with silvers and if you catch it right they can have 2-3 carp each in a short afternoon session.
