yeh the spare spools are white ptfe and from spain.

just wanted to say a big thanks Stan
i have found a reel that has changed me bk to fixed spool,
this reel is out standing and i am now looking for 1 more.
not just saying it but this reel out beats any penn 8000 by a mile thats why i am hooked and wanted one more.
i am willing to let anyone test this reel they wi, best ive used yet

Cosmic these reels are decent for the price but they flex like the affinitys,they have a good drag on them,I got shot of mine and bought a
Penn spin fisher 7500 lc great line lay and well built for £150.but it's everyone to his own.

I'm with beach buddy. Look and feel ok but dig a bit deeper and the flaws become apparent. Poor finish, flex like crazy and major fault is the spool angle. The spool faces inwards towards your rod so friction on the spool lip is increased. I bought one used but got shot quick! Stick with Shimano or the penn LC.
