Old but new to me

Hi all, I'm still alive lol! Just haven't been seen in ages :p .

I've just today came into possession of a spinning rod and reel plus some gear, getting bits and pieces together to pass my spare time in the summer since I've officially finished college now.

The reel and gear is sound, all things I know, the rod on the other hand intrigues me. It's an older diawa spinning rod, with a kinda cross-weeve colour effect. The last rod I seem like that by diawa my mate was in aww over it as it was worth a lot. I'm unsure about this as it does certainly look like a rod daiwa no longer produce.

There's no name on it so I'm wondering if any of the 'senior' members can identify the make of diawa spinning rod it is for me. Feedback would be much appreciated! :)
 
Hi Andy, sounds like a Daiwa HPB (High Performance Bass). Lovely rod I've had one twenty odd year and wouldn't part with it. If it is, your mate is right, they still fetch three figures on ebay and wsf for ones in good condition. Just stick it in the for sale section and I will have it ;).

In that case it'll be being kept lol! Must admit its a lively action rod, is at least 9.5ft if not 10ft in length. Gonna have to get out and use it! Haven't been fishing since like January/February lol! I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!... :eek:
 
hello andy glad to hear your still alive :) lol they is a away league comp coming up at craster :) and there has been a few pollack off shields pier and your favourite flat fish have been caught :)
