To be fair I was helping school take the kids down and three to watch as well as keep the camera out of the monsoon :cool:

Dry and warm now.

Better than watch Snatcher sunning it up battling, sharks, stingers and trevally eh? :p
 
it was a great experience and i couldnt of picked a better spot heres a couple of shots of my boys with it

watched that young lad on the tv who only had 1 hand due to menengitus light the cauldron with his torch the smile on the young lads face was amazing
 
Whatever you (or I) may have thought before about the guy Bear Grills, hats off to him from now on in ..... superb jump, and genuine coolness out on the metalwork on top of the tyne brigde .... class !

get a life total waste off tax payers money they shut the road pass my garage to day . 5 hours i might off had a few punters and lost me money can i put a claim in NO what about the lads that go fishing in winter - 10 like me do we get on the tv i think it a total joke sum daft t^^t runing about with a large lighter

get a grip scotty lad it was a once in a lifetime chance to watch a piece of history and i for one wasnt letting that pass my boys by. Its unfortunate that the road next to your business was closed but if that was the case you would of had plenty notice and should of shut up shop for the day and embraced the moment:p

dont worry mate it will never happen again in your lifetime but on the plus side people who were lining the route who didnt know you were there before now know you are
 
Nice pics Kopite! Just one of those experiences the kids will probably never see again. Bairn was snapping away with his camera, don't know what he'll have on it. Took the camera home to dry it but he kept the card so they could look at the photos at school. Kids got drenched but didn't complain it was just fun with their mates.
 
Far from a waste of money, in my oppinion, in my lifetime past or future there is no amount of money could pay to repeat having the spirit of the olympics pass through my home town ....

Hi Sid m8 the torch has/nt been blown out yet because its in our nieghbourhood today in Sunderland up beside Penshaw monument and you cannot get moving around much as its crammed with people and stalls all over the park and its a great sight to see as it will be once in a life time so dont be a sad person enjoy ha-ha-ha.:D:D:D:D:D:D
