only an other month or so and we can all start proper fishing again, lets hope the winter season is a bit better tha last year[ for me very disappointing]started to knock my 5.0 paternosta pennel rigs up for one of them big ones off the steetly, i wish:red::red::red:

Ow it spells the time to put my gear away when you lot start up again, gave up winter fishing 3 years ago now but yes i do hope you lads get them north east winds to push a few fish inshore.

I may even have a couple of nights out this year as still got all the gear.

The only difference I notice between winter and summer fishing is I get cold catching nowt apposed to being warm doing the same thing LOL

However I have a cunning plan to try kite fishing

I've caught more fish of a better quality this summer than I did last winter. Not really bothered. Look forward to the winter but I've had a good summer and have been out just as much as I would through the colder months.

Does this mean I can get on the piers without having to don flak jacket and hard hat. The mackie bashers will have disappeared for another year and everything gets back to normal.

It's a completely different type of fishing mentally for me...there's no way (unless I'm really lucky) that I'll replicate the boat catches to the shore yet I'll still go out...all part of the escapism is sitting on a cold windswept beach emptying my head...catching fish is a bonus - I'll be honest and say that while last year wasn't a great one fish wise I caught a PB and tried some new spots...hopefully this year I'll have learnt from those lessons and act on them

All I can say is good luck lads ,I'll not be shore fishing again but I did find a new winter sport catching Pike ,no not trying to , actually catching them :D

bring on the cold northerlys, pig hunting, night sessions and open competitions.
hope to do something in the comps this year:rolleyes:

as long as there is rough seas there will be fish;)

lets hope

Am not really bothered about winter meself, being mainly interested in bass but it will be nice to be able to have some nights on the pier for whiting and cod etc without the hordes of drunken idiots that we get in the summer.

Aye gotta get a fix in the winter too and its nice to be out there fighting the elements and if you do catch it always seems like you've won the lottery on the shore in winter lol:)

i have had more fish and of a better size this summer than i had last winter! lol

im hoping some of the fish will hang about and maybe some better quality ones come in, im going to go and roam further up north over the winter aswell, in search for that monster cod ;D

Bring on winter season 09 lads good luck to everyone but lets hope we get more northeasterly winds this time;). I'm also searching for that big ugly cod lurking the north sea:D trying new marks all over the north this season too.
