all pumped up and ready to go. Finally got the monster pump doing its stuff today, rather than lentil soup the old girl has the finest Chicken Consommé in her veins now.

works fine on tick over, just hope when the revs are up the thing just isn't too much for our plumbing

so the maiden voyage this weekend I guess, tides are a bit pants for us though, being the wrong end of the Tyne, so we'll have to get her out early and camp out on the waiting pontoon... no excise for not getting an early start then I guess

7 am Low (at the mouth) tomorrow mark, so how much before it have you got to be out of the marina (expect you`ll be on a bit of a lag being up river)

we need about 2 hours either side of high water to clear the cill (7' draft!)

plan was to get her out today, tie up on the holding pontoon and get a flier bright and early in the morning, but didn't happen, so going to try that one again tomorrow, have a wander out for a few hours tomorrow afternoon, drop a couple of pots, then tie up for the night then get out early sunday

Good luck for the maiden fishin' trip Mark / Ell...........those poor North Sea cod dunno what's commin'......lol;):D

seen pansy on the river yesterday. quite an impressive hunk of boat:). were you having steering troubles or did it just seem that way;).

you might think, that I couldn't possibly comment!

was just fighting the crosstide to get her in. we've about a foot or so either side of us at the entrance into the basin, theres a lot of boat under the water and a big keel so as you try turn across the tide, the current grabs you and tries to straighten you up again, bit of practice needed to know when to stick the nose in

something like that anyway :)

Steering is still a bit suss to be fair on the skipper :p and he never lost his rag once ;)

I did my bit by hanging around the back end looking windswept and interesting, leaping onto the pontoon like the salmon with the loopy end of the rope in one hand but the other end not tied off to owt. Oops :red:

did that with the anchor once. threw it over, watched the chain go out, then the rope, then the end of the rope, absoloute classic:red:.

Not tryin to be big headed or out but i find the best way to get through that gap is to go 50 yards up tide and drift sidewards till almost level then give it the gun and hope theres nowt in yer way:D
