opinions on the lenser H7?

i have the standard h7 and just use rechargable batteries, very bright headlamp the spot beam shines a good distance when on full power id say about a spot beam of 100m and the flood beam is good aswell well enough to see what ur doing, they hammer the batteries when on full power all the time probly last 2-3 on full then go dim for another hour. i just keep mine on the lowest power then turn it up for reeling in and baiting up and always have a spare set of batteries aswell incase i need them

I have the H7R, really good quality recharges in a couple of hours, the amount of light that it kicks out is amazing, more than enough. Downside is that you will need to recharge after each session. I dont see this as a real issue.
didnt go for for the H14 as there is no rechargeable version.

Hi Boz,
I've just bought a H14 210 lumens headlight. Haven't had a chance to try it out on the beach yet, but it looks and certainly is "Brilliant". I had previously owned a H7-R, and whilst I was very impressed with it's build quality and performance, I always struggled a bit to find the tiny on/off switch above the lens (especialy with my short fat fingers)
The new H14 has it's switch on the battery pack and is much easier to access. However it does not come with a charging unit, though I will be investing in one for rechargable Alkaline batteries.
In short both are excellent headlights, but not cheap. A while ago I bought a Cree 300 from Hong kong which only cost a total of £15.00, and whist it seemed a very good and indeed very bright little headlight, after only one trip one of the wires came detached from the contact rendering it 'useless'

Got the ordinary H7 mate with 2 sets of re-chargeable batteries - no problems at all & think it worked out cheaper than the H7R, also means I've a spare set when lamp runs low. Get many sessions out of 1 set of batteries as I generally run it on half power or less & only for baiting up, retrieving etc.
If I need more power & a big beam for getting onto dodgy rock marks I stick with the Tiga, Lenser is great for beaches, river & piers etc.

Ive tryed bith fela, id go for the h7r, as you dont need to buy batteries, but here both just as good as each other, best head torch ive used.
