We weren't expecting to get out today, but our planned get-in to the theatre for our production of "The Prime of Jean Brodie" was put back until tomorrow, so we thought why not?
Unfortunately we also decide to tank a box of wine last night...............Lynn was hilariously drunk..............fell asleep on the loo
so I put her to bed and set the alarm for 9am. Forgot to switch it on and woke up at 1110.
I had a monster hangover, but Lynn was annoyingly bright. So unfair
Caught the boat at 1220, two hours later than planned.
Spot the difference !
Anyway we arrived at Blairmore at 1330, half an hour after high tide. As soon as we got to the end of the pier we saw, not one, but two seals
Can't wait to get my digital camera with a zoom
So we did our usual when the seal is there and went to Strone. It was cloudy and breezy today and we were the only ones on the pier.
My hangover was getting no better, I felt rough all day, as you can see Lynn was absolutely fine
Strone really does desparately need money spent on it, but with the Waverley being the only steamer left on the Clyde, I don't suppose that is going to happen anytime soon.
They do have a nice flower pot at the end of the pier though !
The fishing? Well it was really poor today, I caught absolutely nothing, zip, zero, nada
Lynn caught four, but as she was laughing all day about my hangover and slagging me about my lack of fish, I went in the huff and refused to take any pictures of her Mackerel :red:
About 4pm it started to rain, so we retired to the pub.
Unfortunately the "hair of the dog" didn't work for me
So all in all, not a great day............should have finished on the high of 2 weeks ago, especially as Lynn now has bragging rights until next month, when we get to Hartlepool and I can try and wrest them back !
