First up im new to the forum so hello people

Just thought would share abit of info......


Usually i fish the wear alot of the time from roker pier but with it being closed this weekend i thought i would take a look around.I headed south and ended up at Blackhall of all places down on the beach.Really quiet spot noone pestering you and to my suprise it turned out to be a good place for maccy.Last 2 days down their exactly 1hr from high tide to an hr otherside the maccy have come in and boy are they fighters . A cast out of 200 yards plus and thats where they seem to be any less and no takers.Now i know the maccy are around alot at minute but was a nice change from the hussle n bussle of the pier,so if anyone wants a change now and again right now i recommend that place.Go down the steps to the beach and fish 200 yards or so to the left as straight down plenty snags.

To cast 200yrds with feathers is a world class cast
.
Are you sure it's 200 not 80 which is more like it.

It was 250 yds that's the reason I questioned it

Hi Dave how many people do you know can cast 250yrds with feathers I can think of none.
250yrds is a long long way even with a plain lead never mined using feathers.
I think he is dreaming or is he is Danny mescop

Yeah more than likely but he does mention that a cast of 200 yds will get the fish any less and you couldn't catch them.
I'm not slagging the lad off I just wasn't sure myself

200 plus yds. is one hell of a cast in fact 100yds is a great cast and that's using heavy winter gear with a 6oz lead, if the lad can cast that far he has defo got a future in competitive casting tournaments, welcome to nesa mate

So I take it the Mackie flies were re-tied to 80 lb line then. standard buy ones would just explode when winding them up during the cast. Be wise , fool hardy or full of crap. lol.

I have swang feathers before there ok with a 3 oz lead but no chance would they go over 200yds and getting closer to 250 can i lend your measuring tool for casting mate and another thing that could do with some extra distance

Wellcome to the site mate awesome cast u have. Folk on here are only only gellous of your casting abilities mate take no notice of them lol. I take it you caught plenty of Mackrell m8 any one thar casts that far deserves to catch plenty fish
