Out on Whitby charter tomorrow now!

Just got a call from Skipper of Mistress and the only realistic window to get out this week is tomorrow, not Thursday as booked. So tomorrow it is. Alarm call 4am for the drive south.

I had booked the Shepard's Purse B&B for tomorrow night, intending a leisurely drive down to Whitby about lunchtime, early tea and a romantic night before fishing on Thursday.

Now though I don't think getting up at 4am, driving for 80 mins, then spending 10 hours on a charter is really conducive to a romantic night!!

I guess we will just crash out at B&B totally knackered!......... The best laid plans etc.

Seriously though, just delighted to be getting out. Skipper intends to steam to a favourite wreck of his, anchor up and fish that way. He recommends 80lb line, a basic 1 hook rig, baited with whole squid or mackerel fillet and 1lb leads, (single shads as back up). Does this mean we will be after monster cod?!

Can't wait.............. and no need to mess around with 3 hook garish daylites!

Will put up a report on Thursday......................................of the fishing!

Thanks lads.

An SOS to Dusty Bin and he kindly furnished us with 8 heavy leads. Such a nice guy, great prices and a lovely wee plastic bucket to carry them in!

If you need leads, Dusty is your man!
