factory ships at the top of scotland i count 5 very large trawlers and one factory ship .can our seas take this. what are they after its fishing on a grand scale last week it was danish trawlers off our coast

Just face it, we as human's will fish for as long as money is to be made on it.
We cant protect Rhino's etc so no chance in protecting the sea....only way fishing will survive is if everyone says they wont eat fish world wide and that's not going to happen.
so...face it the sea will get less and less until the boats running costs beat the money they bring in and by then the sea will be past breaking point.
I agree mate, maybes not 3lb but atleast 2lb,no good killing fish that are 1lb plus,i to hold my hands up as I have done this but never to late to change, and as for the competitions, make it though u can still weigh them in at that size but then release, something has to be done.i agree our seas have been raped but some anglers have to take the blme boat and shore as all these big fish that were caught last year were knocked on the head and people on here asking how to cook cod roe thats alot of fish that wont be born and everyone knocking 1lb fish on the head we need to up our size limit i think a rule should come in were if the fish does not weigh 3lb you cant keep it and no fish should be kept boat or shore in spawning season i hold my hands up and say that i still fish when there spawning on a hope of something big but i wouldnt keep it. same as i dont keep the big fish if i catch them to sum up no fishing when spawning and a bigger size limits
If anyone sees the ships/trawlers off Scotland and catch the names of the vessels could you let me know. Being a member of the Marine Conservation Society I've contacted them and they say some Russian ships have been given permission to target "blue whiting" only. And would like to know who else is up there.
Any other info I'll gladly forward.
Cheers
