Pairs Knockout anyone ?

I think there will be one or two others the same as that Paul myself included, there are three nights a week that I am unavailable too.

Jim.

Jim, Paul: the home team will give three dates out of which the away team will choose the one that suits them best.
If for some reason you cannot agree on a date then on the 14 day (which will be a sunday) it will be fished then.
If for arguments sake you or your partner cant make it then you would be allowed to fish against the other pair on your own.

I would like to make it as simple as possible for all.

Does any of that make sense?

i hope you dont mind me butting in on this lads.
although i havent fished with any of you, apart from fishfinder i would also be interested in this .
wanting to learn a few more marks south of the river, and see this as an excellent opportunity to do so.

Pete, its not butting in its called taking part mate.

If you want to learn some different marks then get yourself a partner, trust me its not the winning in this comp but as you have already pointed out its learning a new mark or two and i might also add the Camaraderie.

Looks like weve got enough for quarter finals, if no more names come in by Thursday then we are fishing a home and away leg for each round.

I normally fish on my own but wouldnt mind a fishing partner for the doubles. If anyone wants to pair up wth a keen but relative beginner from Consett (Co.Durham) PM me to let me know. Cheers.(can travel)

Mickyo
you need to put your name on the list, please also put your partners name.

Am going to finalise on Monday evening, due to the cleadon club being away, trying to give as many as possible a chance to enter.

Ok then it looks like we only have 6 pairs interested.

I will make the draw on Friday at Tony codlings friday night knockout.

When draw is made i will post on board same night.

If we can get another 2 pairs before friday then it will make the draw much easier, otherwise there will be 2 byes for the first round.

Rules. ( i know i said at the beginning we would have a meeting and a select commitee, but because of the small numbers i dont think it will be neccessarry, if anyone feels they would prefer a meeting please let me know before friday otherwise i will take it everyone is in agreement)

1.First pair out of hat will be deemed as the home team.

2.The home team must submit 3 dates, venue and fishing times to the away team, it is then the away team who chooses the best time for them from the 3 dates and times given.

3. If teams cannot agree with a time then it must be fished on the last day of the round, which will be given to you the same time you get your draw.

4. Teams will fish in pairs ( one home and one away together) you can go to two different marks or all 4 fish together, decide mutually before or on the night.

5. One angler may not wander off alone (unless all anglers are in agreement)

6. The winning team will be the team with the heaviest total bag of fish.

7. Northern Fed minimum fish sizes will apply.

8. A maximum of 2 hooks may be used.

9. One rod and reel only ( spare rod can be carried but not set up, no reel attached)

10. Foul hooked fish will not be allowed to weigh-in. ( if the hook is tail side of the gills it is deemed as foul hooked)

Any disputes must be lodged with myself immediately after match, (hopefully there should none)

Remember fish safe and have fun.

If anyone can think i may have forgotten something please let me know via PM.

Oh and one other thing could those of you who have put your names down please give me your contact details, email and phone numbers please.

For those of you who have not entered then you have missed outon the camaraderie and the chance to learn a few different fishing marks

Thanks graham, that it makes it 7 pairs, only need one more and we have a quarter final.
Come on surely there must be at least one pair who can enter, when the first post went up there was some interest and now those who were have not put names down.

Its a good chance to meet each other, learn a few marks and see just how others tackle various marks.

Dont matter how good you are or think you are, you will learn something from this knockout, even if its only your not as good as you think you are! lol

All jokes aside, come on give it a go.

what are you fishing for? a trophy, money or just the chance to meet other nesa members

Why?
does everything have to be money, its a chance to meet other members and also to possibly fish a few different marks you wouldnt otherwise fish on your own.

Might be a trophy at the end of it if i can persuade someone to donate.
