Well after the blanks last weekend we were hopeful of some action of any size today and for a change two weekends in a row ok weather so gear sorted and out from newbiggin at 7.00am this morning in mizzly rather cold weather but forcaste to get better so headed to a couple of hard ground marks plotted on the gps from previous seasons armed with rag, mussel and thankfully i had checked my tank this morning and had 1 softy and ten peeler with backs half off.
First stop an undersize codling but nice to see sommit feeding at least, second stop I got a keeper about 2.5lb that will do! then I had another 3 same stamp and my Dad had one out mine on crab tho.
Quite happy to have something in the box headed for a bit experiment with the slow drift went real close in....in fact 8 metres me using crab and Dad still on rag well it then went in the right direction first drift two out then had to share the crab mind it only took half a small one with rag to do damage cant believe how metal of a fight you get from the fish in shallow water and seeing the fish on the finder then hooking up seconds later!!

Hope this sign continues to improve only way is up from the poor outcomes lately.
Finished the day with 21 between two of us all in the 2 to 3lb bracket just pleased we found them and with an empty freezer the 42 fillets wont come in wrong.

Nice one mate! Had good day I see! May I ask what boat you got? Looks ideal for what I'm looking for, small rib/inflatable easy to launch cheap to run

Good post Ivan, you and yer dad did great. That's a good box of fish when you read all the recent reports.

Great to see you had a good day, there are fish there on the inshore marks, like you said a small codling in shallow water can put up a good scrap, I'm trying to fish much lighter this year. Only problem is when that drift is too fast!!!

That's the only reason I come back in when I'm catching fish, I'd stay out till it was dark , but the thought of cleaning the boat and filleting the fish starts niggling away in the back of my mind , I love fishing, cleaning just doesn't do it for me though :( :D , I should have been out there now but I'm dismantling garden sheds instead :(

Nice one Ivan, seems all the fish are close in and not hounding the wrecks yet, maybe a trip up to your hunting grounds on the cards next weekend :) :)

well done mate
