after filleting some fresh run cod i noticed small worms embedded in the flesh and i was wondering are these parasites found in all fish and are they harmful to people ie mother in law?

just pick them out with the point of the filleting knife

if they dont stick in your throat they wont stick in your ar se

Surely any parasitic worms will be killed anyway when the fish is cooked, never know it might improve the flavour! :D

easy answer to this one just lay the fillet out on the kitchen table and sprinkle it with salt and wait

untill they pop up and bash them over the head with a roling pin lol lol lol

its one I\'ve thought about a few times. Mackeral from the north east coast seem to be riddled with em in the stomach cavity, yet ones I catch off the west coast of scotland are completely clean, same goes with cod.

Read something on the net about the parasitic worms a while back...they fihs carry the worms in the flesh..the fish are eaten by seals...parasites then live in seals stomach where they lay there eggs which are then defecated back out to be picked up by the cod and the cycle starts again...apparently harmless to humans..just pick them out

cheers lads i managed to pick most of them out but hopefully i missed a few,she is still healthy looking so i\'ll try something else lol.
