Parking st abbs

Was recently up st abbs but found road I'd intended to go on up towards lighthouse had sign saying disabled access only no through road
It's just on the bend on your left as you drop down towards harbour
Ended up in cafe on corner then the harbour
Friend said was correct road and go through farm but didn't want to cause trouble being somewhere that was signed up I shouldn't
Anybody shed bit light if was actually right road ?

You are at the correct gate....it is a public view point aswell as the lighthouse itself is a holiday cottage so cant imagine people being banned

It's a while since I've been up to the Head but if my memory serves me right the sign was put up to "dissuade" the public from using the road and, probably, ensure more privacy for those guests staying in the lighthouse accommodation. Don't believe there was ever anything legal about the restriction and I've certainly ignored it on a number of occasions.

Hoping to get up in next 3 weeks mate as back from offshore , medium weight spinning gear suffice or is best to take bigger rods

Best to go as light as possible in my opinion but a do no a few lads who take big rods me personally wouldn't lol and yeah nice being on hard ground than on the boats lol
