Hi Lads,

Been kicking around the forum for a couple for weeks but this is my first post. Fantastic site & very helpfull.

I was wondering if I could pick your brains. Myself and a couple of mates are thinking of trying the west coast/bristol channel for some different species. But having fished only from Seaham to Sunderland we dont know the area.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest some areas to try and recommend places to stay. I know its a lot for my first post but any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Many thanks:D

Hi Mate., welcome to the board, Ive fished Lynmouth, Porlock Wier, and Woody bay in north Devon. Not sure exactly where you are going, but you should be able to catch Spurdog, Huss, Bass, and rays. Beware, The Bristol Channel has the highest tides in the world, 9 METRES from low to high so be careful fishing strange areas. and Its a bit of a tackle graveyard in some areas.

All the best, and again Welcome.
Im Paul.

only west coast places I've fished apart from scotland are pembroke and north cornwall - both for bass

Cheers lads & thanks for the warm welcome.

Hiram.A.Biff - Thanks for the warning about the channel. Didn't realise that the tide was that big:o

May decide to have a look on the south coast for some sport. Maybe try the boats while down there. Find a nice little B&B and a good local watering hole:cool: and bob's your uncle.

God, I'm sold on it already.:D
