oh aye defo!! its only took 4 month of fishing every week to get one, this was the only day i didnt bother with big baits and big hooks with no intention of a cod and i bloody got one haha sods law or what.

i was being slightly sarcastic cos i thought 4 months for a cod was ages some people seem to get em every bloody weekend lol.... is it really that rare? people were sayin its the biggest they've ever seen from that mark so maybe it is

Well done-those slack liners are spot on. Had one on the Walkway last time out and turned out to be a bloody whiting--got me going a bit though as generally big strong coddies.

The Tyne is so clean now m8t get samming spawning up river as about 15 years back council Pade about 2.5 mill for a big clean up and this has bean one ov the best years the riva has hade with the fish Cumming out ! Happy Fishing !

I mate your right in a way the river is a lot cleaner,but on the river bed there is still a lot of heavy metal pollution,Its not so long that the whole area just over the water was shut off for a few years so they could take all the soil out clean it and put it back,the tyne is a cracking salmon river but they only swim in the top 24" of water, any way its up to you,s if you want to eat the fish enjoy
