Peeler ID

Can you only tell a peeler by snapping off a back leg to see if there is a new soft one underneath? or is there another way to tell? Another numpty question can they/do they still feed whilst peeling? anyone know how long a peel lasts:red:

Apart from spliting shells along the seam at the rear of the crab, that is the easiest way to check if they are peeling. most match anglers know they are peelers just by the way they feel and sit in your hand if the're well on, like a limp feeling, plus the colour of their shells. Arthur.
