Hi mate, are the guys with traps patrolling with guns or something,im down south so dont know the crack,i probably shouldnt say this but everything below the high tide mark is public property, and if you are dumping tyres and traps is that not fly tipping?a few years back half the fun of fishing for me was scrabbling round the skeers lifting up rocks and finding :ocrabs:D

well up here...fun for us is raiding tyres and dodging bullets :D:D

i thought the same about fly tipping, and i guess if you live close and can monitor your traps you could have a "chat" if anyone goes close to them.

Hi axe, growing up in bensham i was used to dodgeing bullets twenty years ago, thats why i moved to the smoke:D,goddam place was full of geordies:o.didnt realise there was crab wars going on!last time there was bullets flying in gateshead, and i kid you not it was two warring ice cream van firms

It isn't fly tipping as "abandonment" is the key word. They are traps that are being checked most or every tide. Returning to the tyres on this regular basis rules out abandonment, therfore ruling out fly tipping.

Hi mate, will try putting out some tyres on the public land outside my house, will check them every morning to see if they are still there, will be interested in the reaction of my local council! The hole point is everything below the high tide line once the tide starts to ebb is public property unless by decree of parliament as a conservation zone,or by royal decree!mate i am down south now and would much rather scrabble round skeers and rocks for my crabs,i would never rob anybodys traps, but if you set them and somebody raids them you cant have any rights over public land, seems to me you win some crab, you lose some crab:yltype:
