hi,
i am new to NESA and have just started sea fishing again after about ten years, in the last 5-6 weeks i have fished from dunstanburgh castle to the hole in the wall at blyth with mixed success. five weeks ago fished 8 hours off back of dunstanburgh castle and caught one mackrell 1/2 lb ish but had a great day with agood few knocks. i went down to sandy bay off the wall on the cambois side and caught 3 small flaties and a dozen or so crabs. tried cresswell rocks nothing at all. also tried blyth peir but nothing doing (never liked the peir anyway). last night 2/8/05 i went down to peeping toms rocks next to blyth peir and fished the tide going out from 5.30 til 9.45pm i got a few small bites early on and a few crabs.when the sun went down i started getting a few good knocks( missed one good one as my phone rang ,my dad ringing to ask if i had caught anything , he is good at that) 20 min before i went got two eels in two casts. it makes it worth well when you catch fish no matter how many how big or even what they are.
I STILL LOVE FISHING AND I DONT KNOW WHY I STOPPED
GREAT SITE
MARK

Hi Mark and welcome to NESA :)

I fished So. Shields pier last night from 8:30 \'til 4:00 - like you say.....loads of bites.....most turned out to be just in size Whiting. Did get a good sized Dab.......oh yes.....and an eel (I hate them things.....lol). Forunately, it was just barely lip hooked and managed to free itself - not before wrecking my rig 1st though.....lol.

\"it makes it worth well when you catch fish no matter how many how big or even what they are.\"..........Totally agree, Mark (errmmm except for eels....lol)

hello TC,
I AM NOT TO KEEN EITHER ON EELS AND BOTH WERE WELL HOOKED, HATE IT WHEN THEY ARE WRAPPED AROUND YOUR HAND.
GONNA TRY LYNMOUTH HOT PIPE NEXT WEEK SOMETIME
KEEP CATCHING
MARK

Welcome in mate. I\'m new back to fishing after a long time away too. The NESA lads have been a great help. I havn\'t caught an eel for 15 years and hope I never do again. Good luck with your fishin\' !!

HI OBLIKTA,
POOR, POOR EELS NOBODY SEEMS TO LIKE THEM, I BET IF ANYONE PULLED A 5LB PLUS LING IN IT WOULD BE A DIFFARENT STORY. LOL
CHEERS FOR REPLY
MARK

Lings ain\'t \'orrible slimey critters, though Mark.....lol

Just 1 thing.......can you knock your CAPS lock off, please.
\"Speaking\" in capital letters is regarded as SHOUTING......please don\'t shout (unless ofcourse you feel you need to at times......lol)

Not had many eels the past couple of years.......about 4 years ago, the Tyne seemed to be infested with them - every line I put out came back with one on  :casstet:

hi bribones,
were you out 2-3 weeks ago at the end of blyth peir, it was a wicked evening, rain and wind. if it was you you said you were rained off from work

marksworld, if you don\'t want eels wrapped around your hand pick them up with your toes instead :casstet: I\'ve seen a diagram of how you should hold them but never tried it ..........1st and 3rd fingers (or toes!) under the body and second over the top (all fingers on the same hand  ). Maybe I just dreamt that up?

I don\'t think the eels have read that manual, Ell.....lol.......if they have - they don\'t play fair :exclam:
