I have been given the above reel today as the guy said the anti reverse has stopped working any ideas guys ? i have had it to bits and cant see much wrong the reel is very stiff winding forwards and seems to run as normal winding in reverse ? any ideas

It shouldn't wind in backwards mate that why the ANTI reverse is nacked

Anti reverse is managed by a one way bearing sounds like the bearing is worn and might have been put back in the wrong way round

Thanks guys been looking at this and i would say its been in the wrong way round the plastic collar was facing up ? turned it around and the reels running a lot smoother but still no anti-reverse can i get a new replacement ?

Question has been asked before plenty of information available if you google "penn 525 anti reverse bearing"
Can only see one second hand one shown on flea bay might be ok or might have the same problem question is

Thanks mate looks like i have sorted it bit of hot soapy water and some eski lube seems to have done the trick very happy with my new toy and for nowt might drop a bottle of whisky his way
