What are the Penn 535 GS MAG KNOBBY good for are they for boat shore fishing or both.
Are they an old reel, can they cast a good distance, are they reliable.
Any info on this reel is welcome as I cant find any.:)

One problem "knobby" means the little magnetic control knob on the side, and its very prone to breaking. I found this out with a penn 525 supermag extra "knobby" when it fell 3ft from the couch and smashed breaking the holder for the magnets inside. I dunno if this has been resolved or not... Youll have to find out.

My 525 mag, is not a knobby one, and that can take the abuse. Just wait for someone else to reply too see if this is the same with the 535, as ive never owned one :)

I have a Penn 525 Mag2 which i like, I am thinking about selling my Torium 14 to buy some thing more suited for me.
Thanks for your reply:D

No bother mate, all i can tell you is what happened to me. There will be mixed opinions on them tho. Everyone thinks differently :)
Totally agree with you, but ya got to know the pros and cons before you make a decision it no good jumping in and regretting it later:eek:
Thanks for sharing your experience:D

top reels mate. i can blast mine out no problem even with 30lb line on. really good casting reel, and with a big mag on to adjust the spool speed. i'll be using mine soon for coddies

good reels

good reels

I have both the 525 & 535 use them off the shore & uptiding very good reels they are a bit lively though

the 535 mag knobby is a good casting reel and decent for the rough ground, but i prefer the supermag and defo the SL30SH over the knobby, each to their own i suppose
