anyone ever own or used a penn 555gs for fishing off the rocks /heavy beach or boats
im intrested to know how they preform as glasgow angling centre have them on offer for £50????
eaithr sh1t or hard to cast any info lads and lassies

i used to have one when they first came out, canny reels very easy to cast, i now use a slosh30 and its much better than the penn. the slosh is about £70 new i think

Would think there probably much bigger than you need off the rocks, more for the boat. The 535GS is ample big enough and tough enough for the rocks.

i agree with you peter have used a 535 for the last 5 years never had a problem with it ,plus you can load it up with loads of heavy line for rock fishing:red:

Hi Gazza

i have had a couple for fishing of of high cliffs and they are great but for the bottoms they can be a bit big
there are two versions one is high 6:1 ratio and the other is lower

but for 50 notes cant be bad if you dont like it keep it 6 months then put it on fleabay and make a profit
