One final question, what's the differenct with the 30h model @6.1:1 retreive and the 30th model with the 6.4:1 retrieve?

See my post above for the differences mate: yep, I can't grumble about the construction! I've had my 30's since they came out and other than a regular cleaning, they've not required any repairs (and they've had a pretty good hammering!). They do mark up easily, but personally I don't care how tatty my reels get so long as they work well.

I've just given mine a little "pimping" for the winter, treating them to some new Abec7 ceramic bearings & Carbontex drags - tried them out last week & they feel better than new Just one thing; quite a few people like to fit a mag conversion, but I really don't think they need it. You lose the ratchet, and if you want to convert it back it's very expensive! (as a mate of mine found when he bought a couple of converted ones, hated the mags & decided to restore them to their original condition).

Just to qualify the 30H and 30TH point. I had a word with a local tackle shop who kindly informed me that the 30H is the reel for the shore as the spool is wider and shallower thus making for easier casting. Apparently the housing on the two reels is completely different also.
