Has anybody used or seen these rods? are they anygood or just another marketing gimic?

It seemed when they came out not a lot of people wanted them because of the design who"s going to trust a rod with holes?.I for one though would love to know how the few that have bought them have gone on with them you just never hear a thing about them were they ok to fish with or not strange!
