got one myself great reel with a amazing drag system on them mine too has been a unused ornament due to being frightened to bash it about and mark it. today i put some 60lb braid on it and this weekend it will be hopefully be getting bashed about on the rocks on the predicted big seas up northumberland

Fantastic reels, very underated and very good for casting with 25-30lb line when tuned up. An absolute winch on the retrieve and built from quality materials. Very versatile and great for boat fishing too!

Only negative is the spool / cage - design means a full spool / shocker can bump the crossbars as they are flush with each other..

Always wanted one ...bomb proof..I know what you mean though with the rocks and usage in those areas..I hear the cranking ability is good. A reel like that deserves punishment ha.

not 1 mm of slip when bringing your gear in its good to cast also spool holds about the same as 525 mag

Not sure about the spool slip but the drag is brilliant! Its size is between a slosh 20 and slosh 30. definitely holds more than a 525 mag. I use 30greylon on mine and it holds more than enough lineeven on a decent cast.

i had 25lb stren red stuff on mine last year and it was flying out when cast iv just put the braid on today for the rocks the spool is more narrow than the 525 but is deeper so i assumed it was about the same amount of line cappacity but all in all you can put 18lb line on and lash it out like a 525 mag or put thicker line on and use it in the rough and also it is braid ready with its precison machined spool

It's not narrower! It's just its flush edged on the spool and doesn't have palming edges to the spool like a 525

to be honest i dont know for sure as i have not measured it but looks as i have said previous i tested the drag out last night on its first cast in a year when a inflatable rib caught my line and started pulling my line down the tyne
