I have a TRQ 15 and was already done when I got the reel. The mag conversion was done by Chris Macey and I have seen him on Facebook if you are in there then you will be able to contact him mate.
Chris does an excellent job, but can be expensive as you have to full reel away.
Rutherford's in Sunderland also do the conversions and they are cheaper, work just as well.
There is also Blakdog tackle, but never used them.
Tried to get in touch with Chris Macey but no reply yet, what's Blakdogtackle like at conversions.
Curious as to what size dia magnet would be used on the trq 25
I got a c/macey conv on my fathom about 2yrs ago, heard a whisper that he no longer does it,only thru a tackle dealer, but not 100% sure, russ at blackdog tackle is spot on tho,he sure know's a thing or two about reel's n magging
Yeah spoke to Russ Smith not too long ago, seems quite a knowledgable guy.
He has an engineer who does all his machining etc etc, think I,ll just go with Blakdog !!!
Thanks all.......
Davey.....
All trqs work well with 6mm magnets, just cast it with mags on full and release in flight or set the mag unit up to casting ability/ conditions, all my trqs have a 6mm mag unit in and not one runs for more than 6 seconds with the mags on full,
