Hi folks, just got back from a session with a few mates from a favourite rock mark at north Newbiggin (
), I wasn't planning on going really but when I found my lug were on their last legs I decided at the last moment to join them on the rocks & got down about 4pm. Bait had only been in the water seconds - I was still letting it sink when "dink, dink" then a ton of slack line. Wound down into what turned out to be a PB pollock of 8lb 3oz - it had scoffed the big coddy bait of lugworm, mussel & crab on the drop.
After that I was convinced I wasn't going to get another bite all session, as others were pulling in size codlings around me now & again, but we stuck it out till about 8.30 and I managed a couple of codlings about 1 3/4 & 2lb each to finish it off, rather dwarfed by the pollock in the following pic:
Unfortunately I'd left the camera in the car, so had to do the photo's back by the car park - I'd have liked a shot down by the water
All in all a canny session though!
Cheers, Gary
